Gentle contact brings the body's attention to its patterns of movement, protection and distortion. By highlighting issues as they arise, the therapist then steers the body into its self-correcting phases. By understanding that the body has a 'blueprint' of health built within it, the therapist allows the body to bring itself back into balance.
Often with injury or trauma the body protects itself against the imprint of the traumatic event. The patterns that manifest around this imprint have a difficult time allowing for movement to happen smoothly through the system. By bringing the body back out of these patterns and re-establishing a state of balance, the body has an opportunity to resolve the trauma in a stable and safe environment. These resolutions are often subtle, but profound, especially in the way the overall system responds to the new potential. |

Cranial-Sacral Therapy can benefit people with chronic pain injuries including whiplash, TMJ and sleep disturbances. Often people with injuries that have had helpful treatments with massage and physical therapy, may still have some residual symptoms after their injury has healed. Headaches, fuzzy thinking, lack of concentration, dizziness, sleep disorders, and fatigue can often be relieved by CST. With children, or recently injured people, a few treatments can often lead to feeling better. Older patterns that have been in the system longer may take a little longer to resolve. Also, people in relative good health enjoy the benefits of cranial-sacral because it optimizes their health and makes their bodies more resilient, enhancing well-being at a core level. |
